Winmar provides emergency and reconstruction services to homes, businesses, industrial and institutional properties after they have been damaged by fire, water, sewage, mould, asbestos, vehicle impacts, etc.
Winmar is seeking a Health & Safety Manager. This position is primarily responsible for coordinating compliance with health and safety requirements as defined by company standards, governmental regulation, and contractual obligations.

Duties include but not limited to:
Responsible for managing and driving all initiatives aimed at providing a safe work environment
Conduct orientation meetings with new workers and sub-contractors
Review project related safety documentation and certifications
Maintain files for programs, registration, training and other important records (criminal record checks, etc)
Maintain and monitor documentation (vehicle inspections, PSI, etc.) Ensure all documentation is properly completed, organized and uploaded to project portal
Inspect PPE and ensure proper PPE procedure is followed; maintain safety bags; order safety inventory as needed
Conduct weekly toolbox talks and month safety meetings; ensuring proper documentation
Maintain Health & Safety board
Actively participate and lead the Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings; complete OHC training
Weekly job site inspections, quarterly shop/office inspections, equipment inspections
Responsible for scheduling and tracking maintenance of vehicles
Facilitate any changes/requirements needed to meet legislation standards
Follow up on any corrective measures
Maintain files for incident/injury records (yrly log)
Oversee and participate in incident/injury investigation and reviews
Support modified duty programs; provide any reports/info to WCB
Maintain and expand current knowledge of industry trends and practices regarding health and safety
Conduct health & safety courses and program evaluation.
Complete train the trainer courses
Asbestos, Fall Arrest, WHMIS, FIT Certification, Confined Space, etc.

Qualifications and Expectations
Minimum of 2 years experience in a construction safety related role
Any construction safety certification is an asset
First Aid/CPR Certification
Must hold a valid driver’s license and a clean driving abstract
Clean criminal record
Attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication in English


Compensation

$50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
